• Wipe the case and bracelet with a soft microfiber cloth after wear to remove oils, dust, and fingerprints.
• Use a soft cloth lightly dampened with water and mild soap for occasional cleaning.
• Dry the watch thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth.
• Avoid bleach, chlorine, harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and household cleaning products.
• Do not use polishing compounds unless specifically recommended by the watch manufacturer.
• Light surface marks may develop over time with normal wear.
• Titanium can show cosmetic marks differently than stainless steel because of its lighter weight and surface characteristics.
• Always follow the water resistance rating listed by the manufacturer for your specific watch.
• Water resistance is not permanent and can decrease over time as seals and gaskets age.
• Make sure the crown is fully pushed in or screwed down before water exposure.
• Do not operate the crown, pushers, or other controls while the watch is underwater unless the manufacturer specifically states that it is safe to do so.
• Avoid hot tubs, saunas, and very hot showers, as heat and rapid temperature changes can affect the watch seals.
• Have the water resistance checked periodically, especially after battery replacement, case opening, or service.
• Store your watch in a clean, dry place when not in use.
• Keep it separated from other jewelry or watches to help prevent scratches.

Minimalism with a spark of color defines the Junghans max bill Automatic Bauhaus (ref. 27/4009.02). Its matt white dial is marked with luminous dots, while red inlays on the hour and minute hands and a date shown in red echo the red doors of the Bauhaus building in Dessau. It is a design that rewards a closer look and a heartfelt tribute to the school where Max Bill trained.
Turn the watch over and the self-winding J800.1 movement comes into view through the windows of a Bauhaus motif on the case back, which is secured by four screws. The matt stainless steel case measures 38mm across and 10mm high, topped with a domed, anti-reflective sapphire crystal. With up to 38 hours of power reserve, 5 bar water resistance and a black leather strap with a stainless steel buckle, this automatic Bauhaus watch is as practical as it is meaningful.
Junghans was founded on April 14, 1861, in Schramberg in Germany's Black Forest, when Erhard Junghans and his brother-in-law, Jakob Zeller-Tobler, set up a firm making parts for large Black Forest clocks; the first complete Junghans clocks followed in 1866. By 1903, Junghans had grown into the largest clock manufacturer in the world, and in 1918 it completed its nine-level terrace building, the Terrassenbau, which today houses the Junghans Terrassenbau Museum. Owned by the Steim family since 2009, Junghans remains based in Schramberg today.
The Bauhaus was founded more than a century ago, and Max Bill trained there as an artist and architect before Junghans began working with him in 1956. The collaboration produced table clocks in 1958, and in 1961 Bill designed Junghans' first line of mechanical wristwatches, which is still made in nearly the same form. Since the 1950s, Junghans has made clocks and watches in the purist style of Bauhaus design.
In its April 2024 press release, Junghans presented the max bill Bauhaus series as a trio of the Automatic, the Chronoscope and the new Regulator, linked by a matt steel case, a white dial and red accents on the hands and date. Those accents recall the red doors of the Bauhaus building in Dessau, a detail that Junghans says would have caught Max Bill's eye on his first visit, and the case back shows a stylized image of the building with a window onto the movement.
